SPURS have been given the green light to sign Blackburn star David Bentley - but must stump up £17million.
Bentley is known to want a move away from Ewood Park after three successful seasons.
Now the Lancashire outfit are ready to auction off the unsettled winger and will listen to offers upwards of the huge fee, with Spurs, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Everton all in the race to sign the 23-year-old.
Although the price tag is sure to put clubs off, Juande Ramos is believed to be trying to broker a player-plus-cash offer.
The Daily Mirror claims that the Spurs boss has already had such an offer rejected, with new Rovers boss Paul Ince reportedly not keen on Aaron Lennon or Pascal Chimbonda in part-exchange.
The Guardian meanwhile, understands that Ramos is willing to trade Paul Robinson, Darren Bent and Anthony Gardner plus a cash sum in a bid to land his target.
Ramos is clearly looking for more invention from his midfield and has already signed Luka Modric, Giovani dos Santos and John Bostock.
And the Spaniard sees Bentley as an ideal addition to that particular jigsaw.
